Fractional General Counsel
Many businesses need experienced legal guidance but not a full-time general counsel. Gibson Counsel provides ongoing strategic support scaled to your needs—from a few hours monthly to comprehensive fractional GC services. I have lived the GC life and understand the needs of my clients.

How Fractional General Counsel Services Work
Gibson Counsel’s Fractional GC services provide you with ongoing access to experienced legal counsel without the commitment and cost of a full-time hire. Here's how it typically works: We establish a monthly subscription service based on your anticipated needs—this might be 10 hours monthly for a smaller company needing occasional guidance, or 20-30 hours per month for a growing business requiring regular strategic support. You have direct access to Blake Gibson for questions as they arise, contract review, strategic guidance, and proactive counsel on corporate matters.
The relationship is ongoing but flexible. As your needs change, we can adjust the engagement. If you exceed your monthly allowance, I do not charge overage fees. I want my clients to call me and I do not want any barrier to that. You get the benefit of counsel who knows your business, understands your industry context, and can provide strategic guidance that considers your broader objectives—not just isolated legal questions.
Services Offered
Blake Gibson serves as your outside general counsel, providing proactive guidance on corporate matters, contract review, compliance questions, and strategic decision-making as well as comprehensive coverage across corporate matters, dispute resolution, office space and equipment leases, AI compliance, intellectual property, regulatory issues, privacy, and data security. You get experienced counsel available when you need it, without the cost of a full-time hire.
The Fractional GC model works particularly well for:
Technology companies that need sophisticated legal guidance but aren't ready for a full-time GC
Growing businesses navigating increasing legal complexity
Venture capital or private equity backed companies
Companies implementing AI solutions and needing specialized compliance guidance
